Applicants should bring the completed Applications to Local Registrar for Copy of Death Record form, along with proper identification, proof of relationship to the decedent, proof of need, and the appropriate $10.00 per certified copy fee to the Town Clerk's office. Searches of Birth, Death and Marriage Records for genealogical purposes are also performed by the Town Clerk's office. Birth records must be on file at least 75 years and Death and Marriage records must be on file at least 50 years to be eligible for a genealogy search. Uncertified copies only are provided and are clearly marked with the statement "For Genealogical Purposes Only". Fee varies depending on requested number of years to be searched. Please refer to the form for the fee schedule as well as the rules set forth by New York State.
