The talk will be Reverse Genealogy: Techniques for Finding Your Lost Loved Ones with Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak. Reverse genealogy is working from the past to the present and connecting with living relatives. Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak is the author of many books: Honoring Our Ancestors: Inspiring Stories of the Quest for Our Roots, In Search of Our Ancestors: 101 Inspiring Stories of Serendipity and Connection in Rediscovering Our Family History, and They Came to America: Finding Your Immigrant Ancestors. She has been an avid genealogist for 30 years, lead researcher for the PBS Ancestors series, and a contributing editor for Heritage Quest. Megan was a speaker at the National Genealogical Society 2003 Conference in Pittsburgh last month.
