Hello Mr. Smith, Thanks for the reply. I already had that record several years ago, thank you for taking the time to look for it. Emeline Bishop was first married to a Mr. Marsten (that is how his name is written in a biography of her in Fulton Co IL). Obviously Marsten and Hartson are very similar. I have never been very interested in Emeline Bishop because she is not my ancestor, she is the second wife of Gideon Mills. My ancestor William H. Mills is born of his first wife, who is unknown. When the biography of Gideon Mills and his second wife Emeline Bispho was written in Fulton Co IL, they only focused on his second marriage and their kids, and breifly mentioned her first husband, and her father. Since she is not my ancestor I did delve into her side, but I am looking for the first wife, who was mother to William H. Mills b. 1827 or 1833 (depending on census records). Thank you for telling me about Smithtown and Mill Pond, I thought they were separate, but in the same county location. I am hoping someone with an interst in the MILLS family of Sufflok Co NY might be able to assist me in placing Gideon with the proper family unit. Additionally, I have other MIlls family, also from NY, which also settled in the same place in Fulton Co NY, some have legal documents which tend to link the families together, such as law suits, and I could give those names as well. This might be an opportunity for Mills researchers to find some long lost relatives, and fill in some gaps. BTW- Mills Pond is within the Town of Smithtown. The Mills Pond Mills and the Smithtown Mills are the same.
