Hi Listers, It's been awhile since my last post about the descendants of John Lewis of Westerly of whom I am a descendant through his son Jonathan who moved to Huntington, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. I have come to a dead end with the family of Nathaniel Lewis b. 1803 Newtown, Queens County, NY., parents are unknown, according to bible records Nathaniel had a brother Henry b. 1801 and two sisters Sarah b. 1805 and Mary (Polly) b. March 1807 all born at Newtown, Queens County, NY...A notation in the bible states "Nathaniel's mother died 4 July 1835. Other deaths listed are Sarah Hant (could be Hunt)d. Jan 6, 1849, Sarah Lewis d. 24 Apr 1851, Polly d. 2 Oct 1890 Nathaniel was married to Mary Gosline Henry married Mary, both families had children and lived in Newtown, Queens County, both families are in the 1850 Fed census. There is a "missing generation" which would connect Nathaniel's unknown parents to John of Westerly and solve the mystery, does have any information on this Nathaniel Lewis, or Henry Lewis? ..Thank you all for your past assistance which is greatly appreciated.
