Franklinville is on the map straddling the Towns of Riverhead and Southold. J. Wells had two houses in what is now Laurel in the Town of Southold on the south side of Main Rd. just east of the railroad underpass. Franklinville is also mentioned in my "History of Suffolk County 1882" as being partly in the southwest corner of the Town of Southold and partly in Riverhead having 128 people in 1880." So, it appears that Franklinville may have included today's Hamlet of Aquebogue and Hamlet of Jamesport in the Town of Riverhead and the Hamlet of Laurel in the Town of Southold. I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting. Regards, Walter Greenspan Great Falls, MT & Jericho, NY
