They were immigrants from England. Both of them were still alive in 1900, living with their daughter Esther and her husband James Hawkins. Both were born in the timeframe 1831-1832, and probably married in this country in 1858. They were likely from Cornwall, England, as I found them in 1860 in Ontanogan County, Michigan in an area that was populated by miners from Cornwall. They may also have been Methodists. By 1870, they had moved to New Jersey, in Morris County where they also lived in 1880. They had at least seven children: Elizabeth, Esther, John, William, Laura, Luella & Elmer. John was my great grandfather. Thomas Clark was a miner in both NJ & MI. Does anyone know anything further about this family?
