German Genealogy Group Meeting Notice The German Genealogy Group will hold its next monthly meeting on Thursday, February 2nd at: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints The Family History Center 160 Washington Avenue Plainview, New York Early Medical Records in New York City by Joan Koster-Morales An introduction and look at some of the resources available in New York City which contain medical information about our NYC ancestors or those that were just passing through the city. A brief overview of each institution will also be presented. The records vary from the very mention of a minor deformity, to a complete detailed autopsy report. All of this information can help us know more about our ancestors and their health. Joan Koster-Morales is a professional genealogist specializing in New York City Germans. She is also a registered nurse with an interest in locating extant medical records that might be helpful to genealogists wishing to create their medical family history. An Orientation session for beginners and newcomers will be held at 7 PM and the regular meeting will start at 7:30. We welcome all who are interested in researching their Germanic origins. There is no fee for guests and all are welcome. Visit our website at http://www.GermanGenealogyGroup.com and while there, be sure and visit our free, searchable databases.

He was a detective on the New York police force. Sometime around 1879 he married an Elizabeth (maybe Quinn) and they had a son, Frank N. Evanhoe in 1880. 1880 censuse shows Frank Ivanhoe (name misspelled) and Elizabeth, Mary 3 and Frank 3 mos. In 1900 Frank Evanhoe Sr. is married to a Jessie. Records state they have been married 9 years. All this shows as happening in Brookhaven. On 1/21/06 (10:23:34 AM MST), in a posting to both li-rooters@genexchange.org and NYSUFFOL-L@rootsweb.com, Carolee N Diamond (sixof@erols.com) provided the link to an article, "Glimpses Into Lloyd Family History": http://www.longislandernews.com/papers/journal/stories/journal1.html Currently, Lloyd Harbor is the largest village (incorporated in 1923), by area, in the Town of Huntington, as well as in Suffolk County. Lloyd's Neck, the upper half of the capital-B shaped village has an interesting history: Lloyd Neck had been part of the Town of Oyster Bay, then in Queens County, until June 15, 1886. The legislative bill that transferred Lloyd's Neck from the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County to the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County follows my name. I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting. Regards, Walter Greenspan Great Falls, MT & Jericho, NY Chapter 667 (page 956) of 1886 SESSION LAWS OF NEW YORK STATE ....................An Act to set off Lloyd's Neck ..........from the town of Oyster Bay, Queens county, ...and annex the same to the town of Huntington, Suffolk county. ..........................Passed June 15, 1886; three-fifths being present The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: SECTION 1: All that part of the town of Oyster Bay in Queens county, known and designated in the laws of this State as Lloyd's Neck, bounded as follows: Commencing at high-water mark, west by Cold Spring Harbor and Long Island sound; north by Long Island Sound; east by Huntington bay, and southerly by the present boundary line between the towns of Huntington and Oyster Bay, is hereby set off and separated from the residue of said town of Oyster Bay, Queens county, and annexed to said town of Huntington, county of Suffolk; and from and after passage of this act the territory thus set off shall be and constitute a part of the town of Huntington and a part of the county of Suffolk. § 2. It shall be the duty of the supervisors of the towns of Oyster Bay and Huntington, jointly to cause a survey and maps, in triplicate, to be made of said territory thus set off, showing the alteration to the town and county boundaries and shall cause one copy of said survey and maps to be filed in the office of the Secretary of State; another copy to be filed in the clerk's office of Queens county, and the other copy to be filed in the clerk's office in the county of Suffolk. § 3. Richard H. Derby of Lloyd's Neck, Queens county, and George S. Downing and Clarence A. Drew of said Queens county are hereby appointed commissioners whose duty it shall be to ascertain the amount of debts, liabilities and obligations, and the value of the public buildings and other property of said county of Queens existing when this act takes effect, and the time when such debts and obligations are payable, and to fix upon a sum which will be proportionately and equitably due to the county of Queens on account thereof, from the territory so set off, basing such estimates upon the last assessed valuation of property in said Queens county, including the territory so set off, and to determine the time or times of paying the same, having due reference to the time within which such debts and liabilities of Queens county are legally payable and a just measure of annual taxation. ' ' ' § 7. Nothing in this act contained shall impair or affect the title or property rights which the town of Oyster Bay may have to any common property within the town of Oyster Bay, within its limits as the exist prior to the passage of this act. § 8. All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act, in so far as the same relate to or affect the territory so set off, are hereby repealed. § 9. This act shall take effect immediately.

This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jUB.2ACI/1122.1 Message Board Post: Dear KM.... I believe we have corresponded in the past. The "Benjamin Hubbard" of Flushing/Jamaica and father of Jeremiah Hubbard is believed to be the same "Benjamin Hubbard" born in Charlestown, MA in 1634 (son of Benjamin Hubbard b. England 1608 and Alice Ward). However, I have yet to find definite proof. I have long suspected that Benjamin died young. In support of my theory, I recently uncovered a doc indicating that his wife, ELIZABETH (maiden name unknown) married John RHODES, Jr. The doc indicates that she is the widow of Benjamin Hubbard and the mother of Jeremiah Hubbard. However, it does not provide a date of the marriage. She had three children w/ Rhodes (indicating that she was young and of child-bearing age). As of this date, it appears that Jeremiah was Benjamin's only issue. Ezekiel Hubbard (son of Jeremiah) born 15 Sept 1686 married first Sarah (maiden name unknown) secondly, Susannah Goodrich (widow) on 5 Aug 1731 First Church of Huntington (name recorded as Hubbart). After Ezekiel's death she married thirdly Edward Bailey 23 Dec 1747 First Church of Huntington. Ezekiel and Susannah's children are: Rebecca (Hubbart) bapt. 1 Apr 1733 and Hooker (Hubart) bapt 11 Apr 1736. Rebecca Hubbard/Hubbart married Israel Vail 25 Jan 1749 First Church of Huntington. I have no further information of Rebecca or Hooker. Ezekiel's marriage first marriage to Sarah (maiden name unknown) produced my direct ancestor, John S. Hubbard b. 25 Apr 1721 First Church of Huntington. The good news is....at least to my knowledge, no one has ever mounted an all-out-effort to determine if the two "Benjamins" (Flushing/Jamaica and Charlestown) are one in the same. Time permitting, I am pursuing that vein. Regards, Geri

Yes David I see 'Letty' Smith born abt 1794 and died 16 Aug 1869 Half Hollow Hills.
