I'm not certain but that sounds like something the National Archives might have. I would try checking their website. Also just do a google search 'american revolution land grants' and see what comes up. War Date: Fri, 21 Oct 2005 17:27:55 -0700 My GGGG Asahel Smith's early 1800, two story house, still stands today (refurbished 2002) at the corner of Hwy 11 and Pickle Rd, Sanfordville, St. Lawrence Co., NY (formerly Stockholm. NY) I believe Asahel Smith may have been granted this land for serving as a Private in the Revolutionary War for NH. Anyone familiar with land grands in St. Lawrence Co. ? Or with suggestions how I might determine if Asahel Smith did receive this as a land grant for military service? Many thanks for any help, Diana Chapman Owen
One might try the selected Rev. War Pension files on microfilm. They Syracuse library has the microfilms and these are on the Godfrey online site as well. Some of those county histories written in the 1890s sometimes mention things such as this, but likely not in any detail.
