I want to find out how to get some birth records and marriage records of my ancestors who lived there. Do you thing you could point me in the correct direction. Most Appreciative, William von Reyn Buena Park, California My mother was born in Ogdensburg, New York to William Cameron and Elizabeth Winters. I am wondering if my grandfather William “Bill” Cameron is mentioned in your book. He was a laborer and also helped build some school buildings or county buildings in Ogdensburg. He is buried in the cemetery in Ogdensburg that has three sections. He was in the Protestant section. We have a family story that my grandfather Bill Cameron got in a fight with another man when he was about age and had to leave the county because he thought he had killed him but he had only knocked him out and later came back home to Ogdensburg. My mother Maude Cameron (born 1903) at age 17and her sister were written up in an Ogdensburg newspaper when they were about 17 years old because they made a cross country trip from Ogdensburg to Los Angeles California with her sister Catherine by themselves as two young women. My great grandfather was James Cameron married to Rachel Unknown. Lived in Ogdensburg in 1870 at age 39.and was born in Scotland in 1831 and came to Ogdensburg by way of Canada. His wife Rachel was born in Candada. I am wondering if you have any history on the Scots or Canadians who lived in Ogdensburg. My other great grandfather was James Winters from Ireland age 32 in 1870 who lived in Ogdensburg. His wife was Elizabeth. They were Irish immigrants. His daughter Elizabeth married my James Cameron (above) My dad Everhard Harvey von Reyn used to run bootleg whiskey in up state New York out of Ogdensburg in the 1920’s. I am wondering if there are any references to any of these families in your St. Lawrence County Almanacs. Thank you for your time, William von Reyn Buena Park, California
