A. Wood of Nicholville. My fourth great grandfather Stephen Peabody Meacham is one member of a band of Mormon converts that left Hopkinton in 1844, only to find Nauvoo, Illinois, and the Mormon life, did not prove the haven , which they had anticipated. And in fact, they found that it was much easier to join the Mormons than to disassociate themselves from them. Norman Meacham, a cousin of Stephen, was murdered trying to get away, Stephen got away. But the Mormon's held his wife and children. I would love to have a copy of the article, if someone could copy it for me. Thank You Jerry R. Smith
