I believe, according to information left by Isabella, that the family was from Northern Ireland, Armagh. If anyone has information re: the Mealeys, please contact me. Thanks Sue

Good Morning! What kind of information are you seeking regarding this family? I am not related to this family but have a some information- In Book 2 of the Alien Reports for St. Lawrence County John H. Mealey appears as follows: John H. Mealey- Ireland (Native of)- age 48 (at time of report) Great Britain (Allegance to)- Mason (Occupation) Colton (NY) (Destination) Canada (emigrated from) 1854 (date of arrival) 1859 Nov 24 (date of report) 1868 June 16 (date of admission). This would have made John H. Mealey as being born Abt 1811. There are also Land Transfer records that show land purchases and sales by Elizabeth and John H Mealey in the City of Ogdensburg, New York. The first purchase of land was in Elizabeth's name and filed in August of 1859. Do you have any interest in the specifics of these land sales?
