Consider that maybe that site does not have a death notice for this person. The search facility is pretty basic, you find stuff or you don't. They add new papers over time so you might try again later. Also try this site: http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/nysnp/ which has information on papers available on microfilm via interlibrary loan (you initiate the request at your local library if they have a microfilm reader).
