In the article below, I'm pretty sure the 'Hill' mentioned should be 'Hills'. Does anyone reading this know the first name of the 'Mr. Layton' mentioned? This is interesting because ususally you get the man's name but not the woman's name. The article below is from the Watertown Daily times of June 1913. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gouverneur, June 13 (1917) Mrs. Lynn Sprague arrived home late Monday night from Glens Falls, where she was called a few days previously by the illness of her aunt, Mrs. Helen Layton, a former resident of this section. Mrs. Layton died a day after Mrs. Sprague arrived at her bedside in the Glens Falls hospital. Mrs. Layton was born near Natural Dam in this town about 70 years ago, her maiden name being Hill. Her early life was spent here but after her marriage to Mr. Layton, a contractor , she had since lived in New York, Utica and Fort Edward. For a year or two past she had lived with a relative at the latter place and when taken seriously ill she was removed to the Glens Falls hospital.
