We got to the North Country for Thanksgiving weekend. While we were there, we got across the river and visited, among other places Fort Wellington. You can see in the picture how people were able to cross on foot once the river froze over; it's maybe 3/4 mile (1.2km) across now; it was narrower before the Seaway was flooded.
