    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Santimaw, Kirkey, Cartier Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2RB.2ACE/8528.1 Message Board Post: If born 1827, Mary would be abt 23 in 1850 and good chance she would be married by then. The 1850 census was the first to list all family members by name. Somebody jump in and correct me if I'm wrong - St. Regis the town is in NY but St. Regis the Indian reservation is partly in NY and partly in Canada? Anyway, you can check the 1850 census at ancestry.com or heritagequest.com, town by town for the Kirkey surname (assumes she is married by age 23) for a Kirkey with wife Mary. Then you can do the same for 1860, 1870 etc. There is a free online transcription of the 1880 census at www.familysearch.org. Ancestry and heritagequest are by subscription *but* your local library may have a subscription which you can access from the library or from your home internet connection using your library card number as a passkey - see your local library for details. Often your nearest college or university would have similar resources available. Even if you are not a student, if you are a local tax paying resident there is a good chance they will offer use of library resources (your tax dollars are probably providing some of the services). Have fun with the old time handwriting! Hope this helps - Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryland
