As copied from the Lake Placid News issue of 26 June 1917: Mary Louise Tousley, wife of the late Maitland Tousley of Helena, St Lawrence county, died at the home of her son, Leon Tousley, in Newman on Thursday, June 21, at the age of 67 years. She is survived by two sons, Leon and Guy of the place, one daughter, Mrs. B. S. Tryon of Helena, one brother, William Corey of Adams Center and two sisters, Mrs. William Dobbin of Wolcott, Wayne county, and Mrs. John Dobbin of Red Creek, Wayne county. Following the death of her husband about six years ago, Mrs. Tousley had been keeping house for her son, Leon, in Newman. She had been remarkably well for a woman of her age until a short time ago. She did not take to her bed until about ten days before her death. A short prayer service was held at the home of Leon Tousley in Newman Friday morning, June 22, Rev. W. M. Morrow officiating. The body was taken to Helena, where the funeral service was held and burial took place.
