    2. Brenda If errors were made in the transcription of any original record it takes away from it being acceptable or used for documentation. One cannot make a correction (error in spelling could be due to lack of education in many era's). That original document has to remain as it was orignally written whether you like it or not. Once a transcription or original document has been rewritten or transcribed differnetly it is Nil and Void as far as using it in a lineage organization (also transcription cannot be used period), only proven genealogical information of proven value can be used as a record. So that is your all that you can use for your document whether you like it or not. To clarify for your information if the person who transcripted it for the website changed it to their interprutation of what the spelling or any thing else should be that means it is no longer is considered as a document and cannot be used for any lineage organization and does not make your genealogical record authenic. Many of our well intented transcribers have decided it was their duty to make corrections or changes in genelogicial tanscriptions that they write up. However it is not the correct way to do it. kWho has the authority to determine the difference in commision to do whatever. Good Luck Pat R
