I do believe that William Doud that married Caroline Louise Perkins, was first the spouse of Phillinda Page Doud, and that he is the same person. The 1880 US North Platte Lincoln, Nebraska census gives the following information: William W. Doud, born 1831, age 49, New York, father born Vermont, mother, born New York. His wife was Caroline Elizabeth (PERKINS) Doud, age 24, born Kentucky,. They were the parents of one daughter, Florence Marie Doud, born 4 October 1876, in Nebraska. Florence Doud lived to be 90 years of age - - and I am waiting for a copy of the obituary. I had traced William W. Doud back through the various census, including the 1850 US Stockholm, Saint Lawrence, NY census where his father gives his place of birth as Vermont, and his mother gives her place of birth as New York. I found that William Wesley Doud filed for a civil war pension, 29 June 1880. He died in 1882 and is buried in the North Platte City Cemetery, North Platte, Nebraska.
