I think his wife was Rebecca. Any help will be appreciated.

There is a transcription of the 1870 census at the county site under usgenweb.org. Click 'New York' then select a county and select St. Lawrence county. From that site clidk 'select a link' and choose census or 'anne cady'. There is a transcription of the 1880 census for the entire country at www.familysearch.org. Click 'advanced search' then 'census' then select the 1880 census.
