His daughter, Rebecca was married to Marvin Chandler Barnes. Would Rebecca be your Betsey or were they sisters? I have some information I would be glad to share.

I show Rebecca and Betsey as sisters, but show that it was the daughter of Rebecca and Thaddeus Smith, Mary Mariah Smith, born 19 Jun 1817, who married Marvin Chandler Barnes about 1835, had 5 children I know of: Cornelius (m. Addie Brewer); Thaddeus; George; Smith; and Frank C. [had a son, Frank].
