Solomon could be a brother of Harry, and there is possibly an elder Solomon who fathered both Harry and my Solomon (my gr-gr-gr-grandfather). Solomon married, I believe, Mary Beach Parsons. They had a son Madison Hun Buck b. 1837 Sackets Harbor, Jefferson Co., NY (my gr-gr-grandfather). Madison married Helena Victoria Haskell in Lake Mills, Wisconsin and had a son Harry Madison Buck b. 1878 Delafield, Waukesha Co. Wis (my gr-grandfather). Harry's siblings were Edith Myrtle b. 1876, Martha Amelia b. 1880 and Wallace Chester b. 1881. There was also a half sister (the eldest) named Mary b.1868 who was a child of Madison's and his first wife, Margery. The names in both lines (Cynthia's and mine) seem similar....we both have a Harry, Solomon, and a Chester in common. The geography matches as well, since I know my Solomon and Madison were in Hammond and Gouverneur in the same ti! me frame as her family members. Solomon/Saloman/Salomon b. 1808 was in Maywood, Cook Co., Ill. from 1850 census on. His other children were: Elvira b.1832 NY, Martha Emelia/Amelia b. 1848 and Jessie O. b.1867. Harry Madison Buck married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Julia Scott b. 1880 ILL (d.o. Thomas Scott and Julia Smith) in 1904 and had my grandmother, Elizabeth Madison Buck 1906 in Rogers, AR. Lizzie's sister, Josephine (Jessie) b.1874 ILL also lived Benton County, AR around same timeframe and was married to Williard Morgan. Their daughter Virginia Livingston Morgan married William Randolph Harris from Texas. It is possible this Buck family is at least in part Native American. Thanks for any help, Nadia Graham
