Found him in1850 census of Victor, Ontario Co,NY along with two children. George and Helen my gg grandmother.Son George b.Monroe co. Helen b. Ontario Co. Found him in the 1855 state census with two more children, Lewis and baby. Found nothing in 1860 census anywhere, Ancestry.Did find son George living in next county. Found Helen in Pa living with a middle aged couple of New York origin. What happened to Lemuel and wife and two younger children? Was there a fire or some other tragety that only the two children survived? The 1840 census St Lawrence has several Rice boys in the right age group in different families.. Gouverneur is in St Lawrence County. Your Leonard could be from one of those families in that County. To bad there wasn't any parents listed in the Obit. Nobody said this search was to be easy.I was hoping some one would have information that would help.Maybe some how a connection can be made. Don't give up. CAL
