Parkel left Monday for Mexico, NY, to attend the funeral of his mother, Mrs. Melissa Parkel. His brother, R.E. Parkel of Hermon went with him. The remains will be brought to Hermon Tuesday for Interment. Note: Melissa's maiden name was Barber, Joseph Parkel was married to Sophronia Rice, d/o Silas P. Rice and Lydia Schuyler.
