He was adopted/fostered by Captain Henry Kelley of Milan, Ohio in 1857. We have just learned that he was a Streeter according to "A Standard History of Erie County..." and that both parents had died and he was given up for adoption at that time to the Captain. We would like to know more about the Streeter family line and if anyone can help us find his parents and family that would be wonderful. He died in December 1944 as Frank Adelbert Kelley. I do not know if Frank was his original name and Adelbert was added when he assumed the name of Kelley. In his burial record in Milan, where he is buried with the other Kelleys, his mother's name was listed as Evans. Family lore says that his father died on one of the captain's ships and that the young mother could not care for him. We are not sure now whether that was true.
