This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: rgulstad Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.saintlawrence/8377.3.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Please be so kind as to consult the 1851 Edwardsburg census and you will find that Allen Sweening and Hannah (Toussant? as given as maiden name on the 1870 birth record for youngest son Allen) were the Parents of Seneca age 4 and Sara age 1. We have the descendents of Thorton, Truman and Allen Sweeney whom you list who went west, some to Manitoba, Bottineau, N.D. Alberta, etc. Descendents of these are interested in contacting for the celebration of 125th anniversary of Bottineau, N.D. The family was Irish but went first to Holland, or other Germanic county. The Seneca you mention was the father of Allen Sweeney who married Hannah Toussant. Other children of Allen and Hannah would enjoy connecting with you and their other US connections.
