I have a friend who's family is Clark, came from there in the 1940's to Hagerstown, MD. His father did an extensive genealogy, and passed away 10 years ago. If you can show some connection, I'll contact him and determine where the data is. I have found that my uncles family consisted of his father, Charles A. Clark, Mother, Lois McGregor, and Grandparents: James Clark and Alice Smith (daughter of Charles A. Smith and Clara Poullett) James would have been born around 1900, I cannot seem to find his parents as I believe I have traced him from the age of 10 living with his grandparents, up north, New York, but no parents? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. I spoke to my friend, who is not a genealogist - he said he would check through his father's information when he comes back to Maryland in September. I'll try to remind him - you could send me a reminder late in the month, that would help. I actually just read this email, it got lost somewhere in my mail box. I have found some information on the Clark's that I am researching. Charles S. Clark was born in 1931 the son of James Clark and Alice Smith. James Clark was born Jan 23, 1897 the son of Samuel Clark and Mary Walker. He died in 1944, he and his wife were the owners of "The Gables" Restaurant in Oneida. He is buried in Glenwood Cemetery. Samuel Walker died when his son was not even 3 years old (I think, wife was re-married in 1900 census to Peter Cassidy). Mary Walker was the daughter of Isaac Walker. James died a death that was all over the papers because the police were trying to get him his penicillin for the influenza and they did not get it there soon enough. His wife continued to run the restaurant and she died 10 years later. Maybe with the added information, your friend and I will be able to make a connection for my uncle!
