She came over from Co.Antrim, Ireland with her parents abt. 1826 to Gloucester Township, Carleton Co., Ontario, Canada. In 1845, she married James McDonald from Prescott, Ontario - not sure if town of Prescott or County of Prescott. They had 3 children in Canada and abt. 1849 went to Oswegatchie where George was born abt. April 1850.They are on the 1850 Oswegatchie census. I have found a family on the 1870 Morristown census which may or may not be them as all the children are different. However, the older ones are old enough to be gone from home. I know for sure that Margaret lived in Morristown in 1874 and was a widow. How would one find the birth records of the children born in New York to verify if this is my Margaret on the 1870 census in Morristown? George McDonald was born apr 1850, Oswegatchie. The ones that I am not certain of are Angus born abt. 1857, robert A. born Nov 1859 (could be back in ! Canada), Sarah Jane abt 1861, Catherine abt. 1863, and allen abt 1866. I know there was another Angus in the area who is not mine. Would love any help. I do believe it is my Margaret who is buried in Brier Hill Cemetery along with son James. What happened to the rest of the family is a mystery. I do have some info on Robert although I am not positive that he is my Margaret's son. How would one get Margaret's death certificate to see if she is mine. Died Dec 7, 1895 in Irvington on the Hudson at home of son Robert and brought back to Morristown for burial.the Margaret in Brier Hill died 1895 so could well be mine but just not 100% sure.
