No one really knows the exact spelling, but my great grandmother was Nora or Lenora from Pottsdam NY I am hoping someone can give me a spelling for this surname so I will be able to research it. I have no other information, except she married Alphonse Leclair. He was known as Alphonse, but on his headstone it reads Alfred 1870 to 1951. Sometimes you can get good results by using the SOUNDEX system for searching. Many sites have that feature and I have found it helpful. Also, you may know that when searching back before the 1900's you may find a name spelled several different ways. A lot of times it was spelled the way the person writing it, heard it.
