Information about the project can be found at the above URL. Abner Rice who married Betsey Pratt is a descendant of Abner Rice who married Experience Shepard 8 Aug 1754 in Westfield, MA. It is my belief that this Abner is a direct descendant of Edmund Rice of Sudbury and Marlborough, MA. However, no present day male Rice surname descendants have elected to join this project. If you know any current Rice surname males in the St. Lawrence Co., NY area, please contact them and ask them to join the project. I am a descendant of Abner and Experience Rice through their daughter Experience, who married William Lewis. I live in the midwest and have never been in northern NY, so have no contact with the Rice families there. I have been researching Abner and Experience Rice for years, but have not been able to find the necessary documents tying him to Edmund Rice. Abner fought in the Revolutionary War, and I have registered him as a Rev. War Patriot with the NSDAR. I would like to see him accepted as a descendant of Edmund Rice. George and Francis had two children (see below): George Ernest Spooner (b. 1877) and Susan Claudia Spooner (b. 1878). According to the 1880 and 1900 census, both George Harlan and George Ernest were farmers while Susan Claudia was a teacher. George Ernest Spooner married Eva Powell in 1898. And he is supposed to have had a second wife. Susan Claudia married someone and may have had a son by the name of Arthur. There is extensive information on George Harlan's ancestors on the internet. I found the family in the 1880 and 1900 censuses, but could not find them after that. Below is a genealogy report on the family with my sources. Did George Ernest and his wife have children? IF so, how many and what were their names. Who did Susan marry? What were the names of her children? Willing to share information.
