I have a very long description of the wedding (31 Dec 1881) of Frederick Tudor HASKELL to Mary Isabella MAGONE, only daughter of Daniel Magone, Esq. I can type out a copy if you are interested. It does not photocopy well. Also, in the same scrapbook there is the death notice for Thomas NUGENT. "DIED. NUGENT. In Oswegatchie, at the residence of Sarah Magone, Thursday, Aug. 4th, 1887, THOMAS NUGENT, aged 87 years." I also have a clipping for the death of Stillman ROWELL, that occured on the Thos. NUGENT farm. I posted this on this message board some time ago. You should be able to find with a search.

David Burdett who died at the residence of his son-in-law, Capt. E.N. Persons, of the second ward in this city, Monday, July 31st, was well known to old residents of Ogdensburg. He came to Ogdensburg to do business about 1832, when he was a prominent member of the Baptist church. Upon the discovery of gold in California, in 1849, he went to that state to engage in mining. After several years of varying success he went to Australia and embarked in speculations in the gold fields. There he amassed a considerable fortune. He returned via California, bought a large farm in Wisconsin, and went to farming. He pursued the avocation of a farmer till the death of Mrs. Burdett, and then returned to Ogdensburg to reside with his daugther, Mrs. E.N. Persons. During the last year of his residence here he has been feeble in body, but received the best of care and attentions. In his business days he was active and enterprising. He was a native of Grafton, Vermont, where he ! was born on the 24th day of November, 1799, and came to Ogdensburg fifty years ago." (I am not related to this individual)

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2RB.2ACE/8335.4.1 Message Board Post: Stan, Thanks for your reply to my query. George Spring is my husband's great grandfather. His father was Marshall Spring who was probably born in Russell in 1827. Marshall's parents were probably John and Hannah Shepard Matthews. I cannot, after many years, determine where Marshall is buried nor can I find where John's final resting place is. And, I have yet to locate where John H. Spring came from or who his parents were. Hannah was in Michigan on the 1880 census at 94. If you have anything on these folks I'd be very interested! Dawna Clark
