Then when you shift from one ISP (internet service provider) to another, there is no email change involved. I personally have been thru Prodigy, Erols, Freewwweb, Compuserve and now have Verizon. For several years, I have used only hotmail. Since hotmail is internet based, it is available from any pc with internet access. Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryland

This is my brick wall. I am looking for the parents of Margaret/Marguerite Stevenson, b. 1812 in NY. She is found married to Elijah Hutchins around 1835. Elijah was in St. Lawerence County per 1830 so I believe that Margaret was in the county before 1835. Since she was b. 1812 her parents were b. prob abt 1785-1790. They lived in Morristown and Goveneaur Twp. This is my only brick wall - I have been working 7 years to resolve this.
My great grandfather Sherman used to row across the river in the summer of an evening to say hello to friends. That would be 1890-1910. The oldest child of the Henderson family James headed to CA in 1849 as a very young man. The rest of the family remained in St. Lawrence County but in the 1900's a few headed west. Our Murray's stayed. There was a grandson Murray(the surname was used as his first name) Rutherford who headed to Washington state.

They stayed primarily in Canton and surrounding towns with part of the family moving to Vermont about the turn of the century. Some of the later Murrays of this family did spread out a little to include CA but that wasn't until mid 20th century. Some of the other surnames of my group include Chamberlin, Ward, Marceau, Morrow, Bibbons, and McDermid. Can you provide more detail on your Murrays?

These are the sisters married surnames of the brothers James and David Henderson. The parents of these siblings, Edward and Martha Henderson we are told were Scotch/Irish and immigrated to the US between 1832 and 1834 if the census is correct on their children's birthplaces and birthdates as the older were born in Ireland/Scotland and the others in St. Lawrence County. I know that Shaw ended up in Colorado/Idaho. One of Murray's decendant's was in Washington State as an engineer. There is a Cattermole living in CA that is related as a greatgrandson of Shaw's. The relatives to Murray from Washington ended up in San Francisco. Some of the family is on the east coast but we have only comfirmed those above and David's family out east. Would love to connect to more.

It does absolutely nothing but waste your time & others, just sticking in a name with out dates, and information that you already have with sources or reliable information. Good luck in your searches, this is a very fun hobby, those that volunteer their time to help in research need information to help you, but in the end you must help yourself too.

I am constantly perplexed by people who either (a) don't tell you what they REALLY want, or (b) don't give you all (or whatever is reasonably "all") of the information they have. It is very frustrating as a researcher (and a very thorough one at that) to try to help someone only to be told "I already had that" etc. So my advice for people seeking help is just as yours is ! Unfortunately, sometimes other researchers see this as being "rude" etc...when it is in fact motivated toward helping people help themselves ! Dale
