Surnames: Parody Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2RB.2ACE/5976.1.1.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Watertown is in Jefferson county which borders St. Lawrence county on the south. They have a pretty active messsage board. I subscribe to it because I have ancestry in both counties. You may want to post your query in the Jefferson county message board. I believe Syracuse is in Onondaga county. The rootsweb.com main page has a town/county locator. If you put in the town and state, it will return the name of the county. It's very handy. Also a lot of other good info from that main page. If you think someone died after 1960 or so and had social security, they may be listed in ssdi (social security death index). There is a link to that from the rootsweb main page. Good luck! Russ

Surnames: Parody Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2RB.2ACE/5976.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Hi Ashley - your note is posted to a St. Lawrence county NY message board but there is no mention of any town in the county. Depending on where your grandfather lived in the county and *when*, it might be fairly easy to find his parents names. You need to re-post your query indicating which town(s) the people lived in and when. Any known birth, death and marriage dates are important. If you have not contacted your oldest living relatives, that is always the best place to start. Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryland

I believe that the Higbee, Stilwell and McCoy families were related but I cannot prove it yet. Can anyone help me in any way? Thanks so much!
