    2. Kathy Campbell
    3. According to Claims To Name: Toponyms of St. Lawrence County, by Kelsie B. Harder & Mary H. Smallman, North Country Books, 1992, Sinclair Corners is a crossroads in the town of Parishville. There is also a Sinclair road there. Warm Brook is a tributary of the Raquette river in the town of Colton -- it can be found on the 1908 USGS Potsdam Quad. Warm Brook Flow in the town of Colton can be sween on the 1964 USGS Colton Quad. I found a second obituary for the lady I was looking for in 1899, and it says she lived in the "Warm Brook District," so apparently there had been some sort of settlement around the Brook at one time. Thanks! Kathy

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2RB.2ACE/8409 Message Board Post: Think we have found Julia's farmily and their homestead in Painsville, St. Lawrence Co, NY. P.O. Potsdam. In the 1860 census we find a Ira Sellick age 59, wife Sylvia age 49, son Henry age 21, Betsey age 19, Julia age 16, Duar or Duan P. age 13 all the children were born in NY but the father was born in VT. I had difficultly with reading the last child's name but Duar P. was a male. Does anyone know if any of this family is buried in St. Lawrence Co? I now have some beautiful pictures of the Selleck homstead, thanks to Judy. and would like to know more about them, even where in Vermont Ira was from. Is there a genealogy society, library or other source where records of the family (birth, marriage, death) might be found? Thanks everyone for you help with this family especially, Judy.

    3. From the www.rootsweb.com front page you can click the town/county link. If you type in a town name and state it will return the county name (if found). There was no hit for Warm Spring but there was one for Sinclair Corner. I then went to mapsonus.com and got 'driving directions' from Canton to Sinclair Corner. You can use mapquest or mapsonus and get directions from any town you are familiar with to Sinclair Corner. Maybe someone else on the list has heard of Warm Spring. Surnames: Selleck Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2RB.2ACE/8407.1.1.1 Message Board Post: There is a Selleck Road in the town of Pierrepont (St. Lawrence County) and a Selleck "homestead" on that road as well as "The Selleck School", a one-room schoolhouse. The schoolhouse went out of use many years ago and is used as an outbuilding now, I believe. All are located about 15 miles southwest of Potsdam and maybe 8 -10 miles south of Canton. Fred Selleck and his wife Helen lived in the farmhouse until a few years ago. I believe both are now deceased. This area was settled in the mid-1800s, so the original settler/builder must have been a Selleck who was born before 1850. If you find any connection to this Selleck family, I would be happy to drive over there and take photos for you. The place probably hasn't changed a whole lot in the past eighty years. Once when I stopped there to buy maple syrup, I remember Fred Selleck commenting that he had about a quarter of an acre of roofs to keep up. Judy
