Surnames: Morey, Platte, Kett, Basford Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2RB.2ACE/6565.1.1.1 Message Board Post: In 1855, William Morey, his wife Ann Platte, and their children John, James, and Ann were living in St. Lawrence County, NY. (Did they have other children?? Ann was quite a bit older than William, and was 34 when they married, so they didn't have time for a really large brood.) Ann married Ralph Basford that year. Later, all of them moved to Waupaca Co., Wisconsin, and by 1880, James and his parents had moved to Milford, Massachusetts, while the others stayed in the Midwest. John was my gggrandfather. There are Moreys in Wisconsin who may or may not be related to us. I have no idea about John Tennyson Morey. William had at least one brother and one sister, and I don't know what happened to their descendants. Do you have a family tree online? Mine is here: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=ccmorey Can you make any connections with it?

    1. Re: [NYSTLAWR] Info on ?John Kelsy died in Ogdensburg area abt 1906-1911
    2. Rachel Have you considered writing to the St Lawrence County Archives for Information on the Kelsey Family of Ogdensburg? Their Address is given at this website: They would also have old Newspapers that might contain information. I would write to them enclose a SASE and small donation and ask what the fee would be to look this up. http://slcha.org/ Also you did not state where in Canada the family of your G Grandmother located or you could write the Archives there for family information. What was her Maiden Surname and did she have family there. What year did she move there. Did she stay there or return to NYS. There should have been some clues in the Obit, Marriage and Records on your Grandmother. Did your G Grandfather serve in the Military? Did he receive or his widow a pension? Since this was after the 1880 Vital Records were kept for NYS so you could write the City of Ogdensburg (you state that is where he D) and request they do a search for those years. You will have to pay for each 3 year search period for a small fee. Have you checked your G Grandmother's Obit (from a newspaper) to see what information that contained. You could also go to your local LDS Family History Library and order Church Records, Vitals and etc for Ogdensburg, for a low fee and use their viewer to go over them. This would give you B, Baptismal, M and D Records of other siblings. Good Luck Pat R
