Surnames: Obrine, O'brien Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2RB.2ACE/8444.1 Message Board Post: A transcription of the 1880 US census is online at www.familysearch.org. There is a Mary Obrine listed as 3 years old, in Canton, with father Michael age 50 and mother Bridget age 45. No other children are listed and given the parents ages, I would guess Mary is the youngest. There is a transcription of the 1870 census for the county at www.usgenweb.org (click 'NY' then follow links to St. Lawrence county). There are many variations of O'Brian, O'Brian and Obrine and some Bridgets and Michaels you may want to check. The usgenweb county site has many cemetery, newspaper, church and other records you may want to review. Hope this helps - Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryland

    1. Re: [NYSTLAWR] seventh field artillery
    2. Hi First you might want to go to this Mailing List ( NYJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com ) and request information as it is located in Jefferson County New York. During WW2 it greatly expanded taking additional land from Jefferson County and border of Lewis County NY. Here is a Site that might be of Interest to you http://www.drum.army.mil/sites/about/history.asp Have you written to Flower Memorial Library to see if they have any information regarding Fort Drum. That would be a good place to start. They might also have the old Philadelphia Newspaper you are looking for also. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Flower+Memorial+Library+Watertown+NY& btnG=Google+Search Also the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown NY has an Archives Department I would write they to see if they have any information on Pine Camp. NY. I remember at the onset of WW2 that there was a large expansion on Pine Camp and it became Camp Drum at that time. Several towns were taken and people living there were relocated. I Regards Pat R
