If you do a google search 'old newspapers colorado obits' you will get several hits. This was one: www.ancestorhunt.com/colorado_newspaper_obituaries.htm If you get a birthdate/year and place you then would have a better shot at find out more. If, in your family search, you have come across an Eva Lou from Hammond, NY, please respond. I'm anxious to find out who wrote these most interesting and informative letters. If you are searching for Woosters, I can give you more detail about the names contained in the letters. Interestingly, Eva Lou is researching her family history. Thank you.

She was a nurse, working in a hospital in 1911in or around Hammond, NY. I have two letters written by her to my g-grandfather, Jasper D. Wooster, postmarked from Hammond, NY in 1911. She refers to my g-grandfather as "cousin", and mentions "Loren" which may be her husband, but I'm not certain of that either. One of her letters metions the recent birth of Caroline Wooster Jenkins, born November 16, 1911, daughter of Minnie Wooster (no mention of the father).

However, you would be more likely to get useful information if you posted a few more details. I assume that you know that your families were in Saint Lawrence County, NY; however, it would help narrow things down if you included: - more exact location, if you know it -- why you think they're where they are ("Obit says he was born in St Lawrence Co, NY...") - dates; even if you include the century it would help pin things down

If anyone reading this can contact Pat Patton (I believe she lives in St. Lawrence county) I have some info on Nathan Tripp that she might be interested in. I have a non-working email address for her. Small lecture - If you have not already done so, get one of the major free email services for genealogy (ex. Hotmail or Yahoo). As you change from one internet service to another you do not have to change and use an email address associated with them. I've been through Prodigy, Compuserve, Freewwweb, Erols and currently have Verizon. Some time ago, I started using Hotmail exclusively so people would not have to change my email address in thier email address books when I change internet providers. My old message boards notes have an email address that is still good. Hotmail is owned by Microsoft so I'm confident it will be around for some time to come. You can get to it from any pc with that is connected to the internet. - end small lecture - Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryalnd

I have a lot of info on the ancestry of Phoebe Cameron, which I am happy to share with you. I was trying to create a gedcom file and my computer is not behaving, so I may have to get more creative. Can you send me a direct email address and I'll try to get whatever data I can to you. I have no info on Elijah Johnson's ancestry - he's my "black hole", although I do have some personal info on him. I'll try to get back to you with more concrete data soon, but I didn't want you to think your message was being ignored.

I had that and the Pine Hill cemetery lead that Russ posted. I discovered from Blanche (Chapman) Morrison's (her sister) obit in 1943, that Frances was still alive and living in Morristown (as was yet another sister Nella (Chapman) Rivenburgh). Still trying to hunt those two gals down. Thanks for your help, Chris

In fact, I have an obit on her sister Blanche (Chapman) Morrison from 1943 that mentions Frances and another sister, both living in Morristown. So I'm still on the hunt for Frances's obit or death cert. I wrote Pine Hill cemetery last October, but never heard back from them. Thanks for your lead and digging! Chris

There is a headstone for James V. Crawford and wife Agnes L. each with dates. There is also a stone for 'Frances' with no dates shown. Not sure if this helps.
