That may be what you are missing that leads you to not find the articles I mentioned. On the Fulton History Webpage: http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html In the search box type exactly what I show below, quotes and all.... "William Cameron" and Ogdensburg Then, in the pull-down box next to the search button choose the Boolean option. You should then see 35 matches show up where both the name William Cameron and the word "Ogdensburg" show up on the same page. For even more granularity (useful for narrowing down searches) you can also put in a search term such as: "William Cameron" w/8 Ogdensburg Then, using a boolean search you will just get matches where the name William Cameron is found within 8 words of the word "Ogdensburg". Good luck, Anne Cady

This is all I have on Robert; "Left Ireland between 1843 and 1847. 1850 & 1860 at Lisbon, St. Lawrence County, New York, a farmer. In 1850 John Sloan age 64 is next door (father?). In 1860 next door is Bridget Sloan age 50 (sister?) 1880 at Lisbon, a farmer" Robert's parents may be John and Henrietta both born about 1786. John

Hi The only Chimner I find is listed is in the 1900 Fed. Census as Chimner (No Given Name) Female Age 74 years B Vermont Father B France Mother B France. It states she is a Boarder and living with Charles Gay Age 41 Charles immigrated from Canada in 1887 and wife Orla Gay B Canada Father fr France Age 40 in Town of Lawrence Supervisor Dist. 6 Enumeration 99 (possibly Lawrenceville). Orla immigrated in 1893 from Canada. Female Chimner was B in Oct 1825. She is NOT shown in 1910 Fed. Census. (Not sure if there is a relationship with Gay, but they no doubt knew each other). In the same general location is Mary Fugere B1859 (6/1858) Age 42 and Single living withj Edward & Nellie Cushing in Tn of Lawrence. Cannot R or W English But can speak it. She is a Servant. You might want to obtain a microfilm from your closest LDS Family History Center to review the 1905 State Census for NYS to see if Chimner is still living and Mary and pinpoint there DOD.. Cemetery for that area might be the one that was located in Haleville St Lawrence County NY but there is not a record of those burials listed. It is possible that they are at the NYS Archives in Albany. I have a microfilm of Cemeteries for St Lawrence County at my LDS FHC but will not be going there for at least another week due to surgery. You could also contact the RC Diocese in Ogdensburg and see what church they might of attended (possible Massena or Ogdensburg) and see if any Church Records are available for Chimner or Fugere. However you might want to pinpoint the DOD for each before doing such. I would suggest that you do (2) things. Snail Mail the Town Historian at the following Address: Alice Stevenson, 3444 State Highway 11B, No Lawrence, New York 12967 and Call Town Clerk Lynn G. Villave for the DOD and a Certificate since it was after 1900 and also inquire about her Burial Permit which would tell where she was buried. There will be a charge for each 3 years that they search. Good Luck Pat R

Good Morning! What kind of information are you seeking regarding this family? I am not related to this family but have a some information- In Book 2 of the Alien Reports for St. Lawrence County John H. Mealey appears as follows: John H. Mealey- Ireland (Native of)- age 48 (at time of report) Great Britain (Allegance to)- Mason (Occupation) Colton (NY) (Destination) Canada (emigrated from) 1854 (date of arrival) 1859 Nov 24 (date of report) 1868 June 16 (date of admission). This would have made John H. Mealey as being born Abt 1811. There are also Land Transfer records that show land purchases and sales by Elizabeth and John H Mealey in the City of Ogdensburg, New York. The first purchase of land was in Elizabeth's name and filed in August of 1859. Do you have any interest in the specifics of these land sales? Let me know what your thoughts are- Good Luck and Take Care gerry ----- Original Message ----- From: <norval@magma.ca> To: <NYSTLAWR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 27, 2006 3:05 PM Subject: [NYSTLAWR] John Mealey, Ogdensburg > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2RB.2ACE/8480 > > Message Board Post: > > Dear Folks: > > Looking for information re: John Mealey (Maley) > 1880 Census > Constable in Ogdensburg > b. 1811 Ireland > d. 1903 Ogdensburg > > Wife > Elizabeth Whitten b Ireland circa 1814 > d.1883 Ogdensburg > > > at least one child > Abram b. circa 1866 in NY State > > I believe John's sister, Isabella Mealey came circa 1859 to St. Lawrence > County and lived with the family before her marriage. > I believe, according to information left by Isabella, that the family was > from Northern Ireland, Armagh. > > If anyone has information re: the Mealeys, please contact me. > Thanks > Sue >
Good morning! Yesterday I was at the St. Lawrence Historical Association Center in Canton and I looked through the Cemeteries in the Lawrenceville area. I found no Chimner names- while I was there I looked in the Family and Surname Files and found no references to this name. Do you have any alternative names or spellings? When did they live in St. Lawrence County and for how long? I wish you luck in your search.
