Also you've posted to the St. Lawrence county message board but did not name a town. If you know what town they lived in that is pretty important information. If you don't know the town then you might want to indicate why you think they lived in the county. Try the county page under www.usgenweb.org. Check the church, census, newspaper, cemetery, voter and other info. A transcription of the 1880 census for the entire country is available at www.familysearch.org. I don't have many living relatives to talk to and the two I do have to talk to, have different stories. I was told that Jennie's mother died when they lived in Italy and then Jennie & her father Frank immigrated to Canada where Frank met Rose. But that is not concrete, just what I heard.

    3. I found a picture behind one of my grandmother of a basketball team with Bill Graph as coach The boys are wearing a ribbon with NYS 6 shield on it - I can't read the trophies. Does anyone know what year it might be - I believe it was Gouverneur or Watertown. Did Gouverneur win a championship around 1926? My aunt married Bill in 1926 and I believe he was coaching Gouverneur at the time - after that he came to Watertown but I don't know what year. 1. Re: [NYSTLAWR] Pitchfork Enters his Head - Sprague, Connolly in Henderson
    2. Russ - On the Fulton History website, do a Boolean search with the terms: conn?lly w/16 sprague (I use the "?" since the name could be Connelly or Connolly based on what I've seen in the county). The "w/16", looks for the name within 16 words from the name "Sprague". You will gets quite a few matches about Mr. and Mrs. John Connelly (Connolly) and their children. Mrs. Connelly is the daughter of A. J. Sprague and there is info about her siblings (mainly Hattie), etc. The 1910 census shows the family in Henderson: John Connelly head age 44 m. 20 yrs; born NY, parents born US; sailor in merchant marines Irene wife age 39 m. 20 yrs, 2 children/2 living; born NY, parents born NY Almon J son age 14 Irene M. daughter age 16 Hope it helps. Married William Ladouceur 9/20/1911. The problem I am having is that I have heard that Jennie's father's name was Frank Farrand. I also heard that his last name was Ferrierro. I looked up Jennie's marriage record (she were married at Notre Dame Church in Ogd) and it read Joanna (Ferrari) Farrand married William Ladouceur. How the Joanna comes in I don't know (handwriting might have been hard to read and was misinterpreted?). The Ferrari must have been her maiden name and yet she went by Farrand. Jennie's mother died when she was young and her father married a woman named Rose Curno, at least that is what a family member vaguely remembered her last name to be (which I found is spelled Corneau). Either Jennie's father or grandfather is originally from Italy. Then he moved to Canada. I'm just getting into geneology, so I am not sure where to go from here. I am going to get a copy of Gramma Jennie's marriage certificate from Notre Dame (hopefully next week). I hope I haven't rambled on, I just wasn't sure how much info to post.

    3. If anyone knows the name of the boy's mother (would expect maiden name Sprague) and father Connolly, I would be interested to know. Thanks - Russ Sprague Kensington, Maryland ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the Nov. 5, 1904 Watertown (NY) Herald Pitchfork Enters his Head Henderson, Nov.4 - Little Almont Connolly while staying a few days with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Sprague, recently ran down to the barn where his grandfather was cleaning out a stable, using a six tine fork. The boy ran up to the door just as Mr. Sprague threw out a fork full of manure. The fork entered the boy's head, coming out on the top and was in so firmly that Mr. Sprague had to take hold of the boy's scalp and pull to withdraw the tine. He was taken to Dr. Terry who dressed the wound and the boy is doing finely.
