Author: angelfeb Surnames: Brooks, Ward Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.saintlawrence/16236.5/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I want to thank aurina and pata41 for their help in locating Jessie Brooks' and Emma Ward's parents. You have been very helpful. I am having trouble getting info off the fultonhistory website, but maybe my son can help when he gets a chance. (He knows computers). I am confused, though I have Oscar's father as Daniel J., but aurina said that his obit says Amos who is listed as Jessie's father. So I need to get more info on this. Anyway, again thanks. On the 1900 census she is with her parents in Morristown, St. Lawrence co. I`ll paste the index info. for that record below. An article in the Ogdensburg Advance newspaper of an unknown date in 1903 details the wedding of Eunice Brooks, dau. of Mr. & Mrs. Amos Brooks in which her sister Miss Jessie Brooks was bridesmaid. If you search both the St. Lawrence & Oswego Co. newspapers at http://news.nnyln.net/ for your Secor, Brooks & Joyner names you`ll get quite a few hits. There is a database at WorldConnect that has Amos & Harriet/Hattie Bishop Brooks. It shows only some of their children, not Jessie or Eunice. Its here: http://tinyurl.com/4wlsck I think Emma Ward may have been the Emely K./Emily C. Ward on the 1860 & 1870 census in Macomb, St. Lawrence Co. with Nathan & Mary Ward. Not sure of that, though. There are a few Member Trees at Ancestry that have Fred Joyner & Emma Ward but none have her parents. They do, however, give her birthplace as St. Lawrence Co., NY in 1859. There is an obit for Emma from 1918 in the Oswego Palladium newspaper that gives her birthplace as Briar Hill, St. Lawrence Co. Emma died in Pulaski on Jan. 4, 1918. It says she died in Pulaski. I`m not sure what town the village of Pulaski is part of. I believe it`s Richland. The town clerk would have the death cert. which may give parents names. You can see the obit at http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html Search for "Emma Joyner" using the quotes & the "exact phrase" search.
