Over 700 hits for that name. If you have a first name search in quotes like "John Eells" www.fultonhistory.com Many articles from papers in central and northern New York. Search the same way. I had no idea about the fire, and was so hoping for confirmation on my John Cooper's parents. I know the actual marriage date, but of course it doesn't have mention of parents on the certificate page in the bible. I thank you for letting me know about this. Currently I am actively working on my direct line which has/had a sizable presence in St. Lawrence County - especially around Hermon, Canton, Russell, and Pierrepont. There was an Eel(l)s Settlement in W Pierrepont on Eels Rd. Anyone who can assist with any information of the Eells family from this area would be helpful. I know several ancestors are buried in the Beech Plains Cemetery in Pierrepont. I am trying to get records from that cemetery to find the plots of those family members. The Eells name also commonly has several variations - Eels, Eales, Eles, Eyles, Eiles, Elles, Eeels, Ells, etc Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you look on Ann Cady's website (just google Ann Cady) for her St. Lawrence Co. Cemetery listings, you can look for Ogdensburg's Notre Dame Cemetery. You will find the stone for Irene Rath there, as well as one for Emery Ferguson. They are both in the Ferguson section. Perhaps you will find some other family names there. The same site also has some Notre Dame Church listings which might be helpful to you. You can also find Irene in the 1910 Ogdensburg Census at age 14 with her parents Joseph and Josephine as well as older brothers Joseph Jr. and William H. as well as brother Emery and a cousin Mary Bishop. If you can not find this I would be glad to give you the details. You can also find Emery in the 1920 and 1930 Ogdensburg Census. Patricia is in the 1930 Census living with her aunt and that family. It seems so strange that this James Baker family is listed on the 1870 and 1880 Pierrepont Census and then everyone except Warren just disappears. How very disappointing that the 1890 census records were destroyed and that St. Lawrence County is also missing from the NY State census records. We'll keep trying as we must when confronted with an obstacle. Take care and have fun. Raymond Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
