    3. I've come to grinding halt on some of my descendants who lived in and around the Schenectady area, but I have narrowed down 2 people who were buried at Vale Cemetery. I have the accurate dates of death & Interment for these two people, and I wondered if it'd be possible to ask some kind person for a newspaper lookup? The dates for burial in both cases are: Charlotte A ALLEN, buried 10th April 1920 Sandra Elaine LONG, buried 16th Sep 1949. Even the smallest article would tell me more than I know now<g>. Best wishes from down south Dave Cripps David Cripps <dcripps@iprimus.com.au> Hobart, Tasmania, Australia

    3. Hi David, If you don't find a volunteer, the Schenectady County Public Library does obit lookups for $5. each. You can write to them at 99 Clinton Street, Schenectady, NY 12305, attention Karen Bradley. They have the years that you are looking for. I will take up your offer and ask the Schenectady County Library for those lookups; As you say $5 per lookup is very reasonable. I did have other suggestions about contacting the Vale Cemetery itself, which I already have done a few years back, and yes I did receive some useful info from the burial index cards. But of course these in turn raised more questions, so after thinking on this for a bit, I've decided to go for the newspapers next. Thankyou everybody for the replies. Dave Cripps
