Hello to all, I feel fairly certain this subject has been mentioned in the past but I can't seem to find it. I have a number of obits I would like to find and am not sure how to go about it or what newspapers were in the area at the various times. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. What newspapers would have been available for the years spanning 1878-1928? Would Glenville have had a newspaper of its own? For some of the folks I have fairly specific dates and for others not a clue. Do the newspapers have someone who would be an archivist for the obits? I'm looking for members of the HOPPMAN family, some of whom are buried in the Vale Cemetery and the German Methodist Cemetery. I look forward to any and all advice on this subject. Thank you so much, Jean Oxley in the Blue Ridge Mtns. of VA
Hi Jean, You might want to try the Schenectady County Historical Society. They have an obituary collection, but I don't know what year it starts. Here's their web site to get you started http://www.schist.org/ Jim -----Original Message----- From: Jean Oxley [mailto:djoxley@rbnet.com] Sent: Sunday, November 10, 2002 6:29 PM To: NYSCHENE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYSCHENE] Help requested with Newspapers and obits Hello to all, I feel fairly certain this subject has been mentioned in the past but I can't seem to find it.
