Hello list, Thank you to all who responsed. Their first child was born in CT in 1943. Lillian Duley b Aug 7,1918 in Dannemora, NY. Charles Roberts, b Dec 20, 1912 in Springfield, MA.. He was a Motorcycle Police Officer with the Springfield Police Dept in 1942. He graduated from Springfield Tech in 1931. His parents were Thomas H. Roberts b Sep 6,1886 in Hemmingford, Canada and Georgia B. Hislop b Mar 24, 1888 in Highgate. VT. Charles lived on Hancock Street, in Springfield, MA.. According to vital records in Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire no marriage record is on file. I have even sent for copies from surrounding towns of Springfield. No record. New York was kind of my last hope. Hadn't even thought of Canada. But seeing as my Mother had the marriage date scripted on the headstone before she died I assume it to be correct. It clearly reads August 30, 1942. Any help greatly appreciated in trying to locate the marriage certificate. Sande in Georgia
