I received a marriage document that indicates the bride and groom were married in the State of New York at Villa Road by a Thomas F. Dwyer, Minister of the Gospel. Can anyone tell me what the reference to Villa Road is? Is that the name of a church??? The marriage occurred in 1899. Where would I write to find out about an annullment? Villa Road - which is not listed on my current city map - is described in the 1899 city directory as running from Westinghouse Avenue south to the NY Central Railroad. The only Thomas Dwyer listed then says "Saloon and house 440 South Centre," but there is a Rev. S. F. Dwyer, "pastor Villa Road chapel, house 33 Villa Road." The church listing in the directory includes "Villa Road Chapel, Villa Road. Rev. T. F. Duryee, Pastor." > Where would I write to find out about an annullment? The county clerk's office has those records. <http://www.schenectadycountyclerk.com/> Bob Sullivan <rsullivan@sals.edu> Schenectady County Public Library (NY) <http://www.scpl.org/> Schenectady Digital History Archive <http://www.schenectadyhistory.org/>
