    3. Another place that you may want to check is Amsterdam, NY which is just northwest of Schenectady on Route 5 along the Mohawk River. Amsterdam is in Montgomery County, not Schenectady County, but many of its residents also worked at General Electric Co., or at American Locomotive (ALCO) and historically it has had a large Polish population.
