Rev Blatchford came to America just after the Am Revolutionary War.He and his Father helped Prisoners of War Escape,Dartmoor Prison in Devon England.So he came to Ny then Ct.and finally got to preach in Troy. He also preached at the Dutch Reform Church.His training was Episcopal.Although he converted to Presbyterian,He was a teacher at Union College ETC.
