Hi, I just got back from Schenectady City Clerk's office and discovered that they have raised their prices as of Mar 1st. The woman said that they were going along with the State and she gave me a copy of the State form and on the back of it they have a series of fees based upon the years to be searched starting with $22 for 1-3 yrs and ending with $162 for 61-70 years; however, on the front of the form it just says: FEE-$22.00 includes search and uncertified copy or notification of no record. Schenectady ignored that and are starting with $22 and going up to $42 per - like they want $42 for 1885 & 1889 even if you have the correct date which is, as someone said, highway robbery.
