    3. Sande, are you and Fredie the only children? If so you are younger and I remember you had a horse that you were so proud of when I visited. That is when I got the menure for my garden. The year had to be about 1973/4 There was also a huge bunch of rubarb growing from the compost pile. Your dad was always bringing stuff from the garden to work at the Match. 1. Re: [NYSCHENE] MARRIAGE 1942 ROBERTS/DULEY
    2. I checked the NYS index of marriages. In 1942, I found no record for Charles (or Frederick) Roberts. I found a Lillian Carroll, marriage in Suffern, Westchester Co. on Aug. 23, 1942. No record for a Lillian Duley. The index does not include NYC. The 5 counties are Kings, Queens, New York, Richmond (Staten Island) and Bronx. If the bride was from Dannemora, they may have gone to Canada.

    3. Thanks for the notice, Barbara. There was a nice article on Larry Hart in the Times-Union a couple of weekends ago; his son has written a book about him and was going to be doing a booksigning or two, but I don't remember where they were. Larry's columns and books are such a treasure for any of us with connections to Schenectady, recording hundreds of little observations about the Electric City over the last century that would otherwise have been lost. Such a shame to lose him. I happened to notice also on the opening page byline a notation of Larry Hart's passing. Most all of us familiar with Schenectady know of this man who has written so much about the area. An obituary for him may be read by going to the Albany Times Union website. AOL blocking mail from Rootsweb is a recurring problem. This time it appears to have resulted from technical changes made to the Rootsweb mail servers, probably exacerbated by the MyDoom worm causing a flood of messages with forged Rootsweb addresses. AOL is aware of the problem - which also affects CompuServe users, of whom we have some on our list - and we hope for a speedy resolution.
