Hi Sonja, I have just returned from the Sataroga Tax District. (Actually, I got in at 12:35 a.m. this morning and have not even started to unpack my trailer yet.) The talk that I gave to the Old Saratoga Historical Association was a combination of the main parts of my paper entitled, "A Lawyer's Analysis of Burgoyne's 'Wilderness': The Saratoga Tax District of Albany County" and "Debunking Burgoyne's Rationale for the British Defeat at Freeman's Farm". I am sorry but I can not post either of the original papers or the combined paper on the internet if I want to get my research published by a reputable publisher. Make no mistake about it, I do want to get my papers published. Last year after the 2006 Conference on New York State History, I submitted my "Burgoyne's 'Wilderness' " paper to the RECORD. The editor of the RECORD was interested in my paper. So I just have to make the formatting changes that the editor requested, before I send it back to the RECORD. Eventually, I hope to produce a book on the civilian population of the Rev War Era Saratoga Tax District, but I still have a lot of title work and genealogical research to do first. However, I am still willing to share and swap information from my database with other researchers. I am not sure how to access the material now, but I have posted the 1779 Saratoga District Tax Lists on the NY Gen Web Archives and some of the individual county Gen Web sites. So if list members can access those lists and then contact me, I'll be please to lend them a hand. Please be patient with the pace at which I am getting my research published. Hi Leslie, I really wish I had been able to hear you. It had to be a very interesting talk and I completely understand you wanting to get your work published. Have you thought about self-publishing? I know absolutely nothing about it but I have heard people mention they have done it in the past. Of course that doesn't necessarily get it where you want it to be...but my best of luck to you. This has been a passion with you for as long as I have been writing to you. In the good news department, I should be receiving the results of my professional genealogical work I hired out about 3 months ago. I just called them today with my credit card number to finish paying for it..about $1152. Not too bad since I have been trying to break through these brick walls for probably as long as you have been working on the Saratoga Tax District! Maybe even longer...I think at least 10 years or more. Yours may not have taken that long. So hopefully they will have finally found where Wright and Hannah Newland Brown were married and where their kids were born and when...and who..Trying to finally tie Samuel Right Brown to him has been a nightmare, even everything pointed to the connection, I had absolutely no proof..so....keep your fingers and everything else crossed! I will die if they were unable to find all the answers. Believe me, you will be one of the first to know!! I should receive it in 3-4 days out of Salt Lake City to LaQuinta, CA... Thanks for thinking of me. I really appreciate it. Sonja -----Original Message----- From: Leslie B.
