Deanna--generally the death records in Michigan are kept at the County level, then copied to the state government. The quickest and easiest way to get a Death Certificate is to write the County Clerk for the county you uncle died in, explaining that he is your Uncle. There is a fee, which may vary by county. Bring up the county's website on the internet and they will generally explain the procedure and the fee. Your Uncle is in a comparatively recent record if he was covered by Social Security, and most of the online lists are for older records.
